Are you ready for a cyber attack? How safe are your company records?

Moving away from traditional paper records means that all company, employer and employee information is kept on some sort of IT/database system. The past few years has seen some of the UK’s biggest institutions come under fire from cyber attacks, the NHS in May 2017 and Lloyds Bank to name but a few, so if some of the biggest names fail to prevent these attacks from happening, how do you know your records are safe? The FTSE 350 Cyber Governance Health Check Report 2017 claims that 10% of business have no plan in place in the event of such an attack and 68% of company directors have had no training to deal with a cyber incident. This week the government introduces new plans to train bosses in how to prevent or deal with a cyber-attack. Take a look at The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect in the UK on 25th May 2018. Its not a case of if, but when a cyber attack will happen, so be prepared.
